Cottrell Communications Corporation was formed in April 1983 to provide telecommunications equipment and services to the Richmond and surrounding areas marketplace. We have represented NEC, a global Fortune 500 technology leader, since our inception. We have maximized our knowledge based offerings by enabling our achievements as a nationwide premier NEC dealer.

Over the course of our 25 year history we have provided, installed and maintained over 4,000 business telephone systems. From our humble beginnings in 1983 in an attic and coupled with our early success we were fortunate to acquire our current facility located at 7300 Impala Drive in 1985. At this location we have been able to serve our needs and our customer’s needs as well.

Having started with 50 pair telephone systems to microprocessors to digital and VoIP systems, Cottrell Communications has transcended its business model to meet the technology needs of today. With the advent of VoIP technology, our firm has positioned itself to become a full information technology company as evidenced by our most recent hires whom possesses certifications of MCSE, CCNP & CISSP, enabling us to be a full service IT Company. When VoIP resides on a network, we are positioned well to provide all services by cross training sales and technical staff, providing to our customers the same reliable services they have been accustomed to. 

Each product cycle, which occurs approximately every seven years, Cottrell has reinvented itself to meet challenges to be the leaders in the field. Our long term employees, like our company, have continued their education process to keep our firm as the leading provider of our services. Coupled with a commitment to inventory, a fleet of vehicles and full technical staff, we have demonstrated our ability to perform on behalf of our customers admirably.
